Todd Houston

Todd closed Todd Houston Shipbuilding, its emergency yard at Irish Bend, at the end of WWII and returned the facility to MARCOM, which liquidated it. Then, in 1949, they leased Brown Shipbuilding's yard at Green's Bayou and operated it as a barge construction and repair yard until 1987. The site was then returned to Brown, by then called Brown & Root, who operated it as a topside construction facility focused on the offshore industry. The yard closed again in 2004, was sold piecemeal to multiple buyers and is now the Brown Shipbuilding Industrial Park. See the site from the air on Google here.
