Kaiser Vancouver

Vancouver WA

Most recent update: August 7, 2021.

Kaiser's Vancouver operation was an emergency yard, built with 10 ways in the fourth wave of shipbuilding expansion, with $26mm from MARCOM. Its 10 ways were increased to 12 in the fifth wave of shipbuilding expansion. The yard was closed at the end of the war but held in reserve until the 1950s, when it was sold to Gilmore Steel for $3.25mm. See the site from the air on Google here: the building ways are clearly visible.
