In 1997, Vessel Repair Inc., bought the former Burton shipyard in Port Arthur TX, which had been lying idle for 15 years, reactivated its repair capabilities and in 2012 started building tank barges. Visit the company at vesselrepair.net/. The yard is on the Sabine-Neches Waterway, at the east end of Port Arthur. See it from the air on Google here.
