Island Dock
Kingston NY
Kingston Dry Dock was started by John Schoonmaker, a successful ice dealer, to build wooden cargo ships for the USSB in WWI. This venture was not a success, but they survived to build ten "six-bitters" for the Coast Guard. The successor company closed in the 1950s. The yard was on the island in Kingston.
