Champion Shipyards

Pass Christian MS

Most recent update: August 2, 2014.

Champion Shipyard was started in 1980 by three Halter managers - Sid Mizell, Floyd Naquin and Bernie Heaps. Two years later, they sold it to Swiftships, who had misguidedly decided to buy up a bunch of small yards, just in time for the market collapse of the mid-1980s. As a result, the yard closed in 1984, leaving four boats incomplete.
