Small Landing Craft

LCM, LCC, LCV, LCP, LCPL, LCVP

Most recent update: May 4, 2015.

This table attempts to list all other landing craft built for the US Navy during WWII. In addition to the 42,148 vessels listed here, 18,273 Landing Craft, Rubber, (LCR), were produced by companies in the rubber industry and 18,350 Landing Vehicles, Tracked, (LVT), were produced by companies in the automobile industry. This table is far from being complete. In addition, there is very little information available on what happened to those landing craft that are no longer in active service: the older ones are presumed to have been scrapped but there may be one or two still around. Builders of LCM(3)s included American Boiler Works, American Car & Foundry, Bethlehem Steel Wilmington, Boiler Tank & Pipe, Boston NSY, Brewer Dry Dock, Charleston NSY, Consolidated Steel Los Angeles, Darby Products, Drier Steel, Greenport Basin, Gunderson Brothers, Higgins Industries, Jones & Laughlin Steel, Judson-Pacific, Kansas City Steel, McDonough Steel, Missouri Valley Bridge, Moore Equipment, Mount Vernon Bridge, Newport Ships, Omaha Steel, W. A. Robinson, Soule Steel, Tragesar Copper, United Boat Services, Walsh Steers and Warren City Tank. Builders of LCM(6)s included Darby Products, Gunderson Brothers, Higgins Industries, Jones & Laughlin Steel, Judson-Pacific, Kansas City Steel, McDonough Steel, Missouri Valley Bridge, Moore Equipment, Mount Vernon Bridge, Newport Ships, W. A. Robinson and Soule Steel.
