US Army Derrick Barges (WWII)

(BD) Built During WWII

Most recent update: December 2, 2016.

At least 348 derrick barges of various types were built for the US Army during WWII, by at least 30 different barge builders. This program is documented in "Report of Army Small Boat Construction , 1 July 1940 to 31 May 1945" (War Department, 1945). What we don't know is what happened to all these vessels after the war.
