Odenbach Shipbuilding

Rochester NY

Most recent update: August 30, 2021.

Odenbach Shipbuilding was developed for the war effort. It was located on the west side of the northern end of Dewey Avenue, in the town of Greece, near Rochester. Ships were launched into Round Pond and maneuvered out to Lake Ontario. The shipyard was taken over by the government in 1951 and turned over to the Air Force, which used part of it to fabricate sub-frames for B-29 bombers, the balance being sold in 1961 to the local water authority. The site has since been razed. See it from the air on Google here.
