Kyle & Company
Stockton CA
Kyle & Company was a manufacturer of steel products, with operations in Stockton, Fresno and Sacramento. The Stockton facility was converted to shipbuilding for WWII and closed in the 1950s when Kyle was acquired by Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel. The yard was located at 348 North Harrison Street, which is now the parking lot on the west side of North Banner Stadium. Note that the ancient buildings on the west side of Harrison look very much as if they might have been part of the Kyle operation back then.
