Willamette Iron & Steel Corp. was established in 1865 as Willamette Iron Works, a general foundry: the name was changed to Willamette Iron & Steel in 1904. After WWII, it continued as a repair yard until closing in 1990. The yard was located at the foot of N.W. 17th Avenue.
