Van Peer Boatworks was started by Chris Van Peer in 1975 and became one of the leaders on the West Coast in fishing vessel construction. They build their boats in an inland facility at 32600 State Highway 20 and then roll them down the highway to Noyo Harbor, where they are launched. The company was sold in 2017 and renamed Noyo Boatworks.
