Port Houston Iron Works

Houston TX

Port Houston Iron Works was a small shipbuilder, started in the 1930s and located on the south side of the turning basin at the head of the Houston Ship Channel. It changed its name to Port Houston Shipyards in 1962 and became the Port Houston Division of Wyatt Industries in 1967, but built its last vessel in 1969 and closed in 1976.
