Kneass Boat Works

San Francisco CA

George Washington Kneass opened this boatyard in 1868, at 22 Mission Street, moving later to 671 Illinois, just north of the big yard that is now BAE San Francisco. The yard closed in 1970 and the name is now used by an artist's studio run by Ruth Kneass. Visit it at kneassboatworks.com .
