Menchions' Shipyard
Vancouver BC
Menchions' Shipyard was founded in 1912 by William R. Menchions, a Newfoundlander who had moved to Vancouver in 1896: he was succeeded by his nephew Albert and by Albert's son George. The company closed in 1990. The original yard was in the Coal Harbour neighbourhood, on the west side of what is now the Westin Bayshore, but in 1938 they moved to the north end of Cardero Street, on the east side of the Westin Bayshore.
