Canadian Coast Guard Vessels Built or Acquired Before 1962

Most recent update: March 12, 2015.

The Canadian Coast Guard, as we know it today, was organized in 1962, by consolidating the fleets of several marine agencies. This table attempts to list all the vessels that were built for or acquired by those agencies before 1962, listed here by type of vessel and year of build. A separate table lists the ships and boats built since 1962. See that table here. These tables are as complete as I can make them but there are still some gaps, particularly among the smaller and older vessels.
