Kretzer Boat Works
City Island NY
Most recent update: September 8, 2020.
Kretzer Boat Works was started in 1906 by Walter Kretzer and was best known as a yacht finisher, i.e. for outfitting bare hulls built elsewhere: as a result, its construction record understates its actual performance. It was sold in 1977 as a marina and was destroyed by fire in 1997. The site at 459 City Island Avenue, is now occupied by the Seafood City restaurant.
