Philadelphia Naval Shipyard was established in 1801 and closed in 1996. Part of the shipyard, including Docks 4 and 5, is now leased to Philly Shipyard for ship construction projects and another part, including Docks 2 and 3, is now leased to Rhoads Industries for ship repair projects.
