Fairhaven Shipyard Companies was created in 2008, with the merger of Fairhaven Shipyard & Marina and D. N. Kelley & Son. The former had been going since 1879: it is now known as the North Yard and is located on Water Street, at the foot of Union Street - see it here. The latter had been going since 1864: it is now known as the South Yard and is located on Fort Street, at the foot of Cottage Street - see it here. Note that this company is not related to the Fairhaven Shipyard in South Bellingham WA.
